Santiago is an expert lawyer in commercial law and the area of Media, Entertainment & Sports. He started his law career in the London and New York offices of the American firm Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP. Santiago was an Associated Researcher at the European Studies Centre in Madrid until the publication and presentation of his work on leniency policies under antitrust law. Santiago joined Garrigues Abogados in 2001 in the commercial department and gradually worked his way into the Sports and Entertainment department.
He subsequently left to form part of the legal team at MTV Spain where he was head of the contracts, production and entertainment departments of the TV channels MTV España, Paramount Comedy and Nickelodeon. Santiago combines legal services to clients with participation in producing shows as well as teaching on various master’s courses at Universidad Carlos III, Universidad Alcalá de Henares (Editrain), Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, the SAE Instituye and KSchool.
Law degree in the specialist area of Community Law from the Universidad San Pablo-CEU and a degree in European Studies from Portobello College in Dublin. Master’s in Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law from the Universidad Carlos III.
Member of the Madrid Bar Association and the Spanish Entertainment-Law Association (DENAE).
